I've tried to search for this but have no conclusive answer. Can I use 500 ppm for everyday use? Reason being that I buy at wholesale price? Or would you recommend 50ppm as a standard, with 500ppm only on remote spots where there is no 500?
Thanx
So do I, believe me.Gemaskerde Tuinvurk wrote:

I've only seen recommendations, but no-one seems absolutely certain, not even Mitsu?
My manual does not say. Mitsu told me the car will be fine on 500ppm, all the time.
Yours has the newer injectors, so I'm not sure. Maybe call Mitsu Sandton... They have a guy there who says he has seen it all...
he is never scared to share his view - not sure if that's a good thing.

Mitsu confirmed 50ppm preferably, but 500ppm when 50 is not available is fine.
The manual only advises that continued use of 500ppm should be followed by a Mitsu approved additive to clean the fuel system.

This same question was asked by a Gen 4 owner in 2011 or 2012 in the technical section of SA4x4. They had a response from a manager of Mitsubishi Motors SA, he said that there was no issue with using 500ppm.
Correct, Gen 4 can use 500ppm.
The difference will be that a car's injectors that has mainly run on 500ppm as apose to running on 50ppm will need to be replaced sooner

I have been mixing and matching between 50 and 500. From my memory when I bought the Paj, 50ppm was not available with SASOL being the first to launch it (I might be wrong though)
It was a mission to always find a SASOL so I ended up not being too worried.
Lastly, I find that I get more Km's out of BP 50 than any other brand of fuel, sometimes up to 100Km's more, but I reckon thats a separate topic

Thanx for an informative answer. I take it you have a gen 4 as well?
Regarding your claim on getting more kms/l on BP 50 is extremely interesting and I would really like to see some stats on that please?
