Check engine light on Gen2
Hi everyone
I havn't posted anything in a while, because my car was not used in a long time. I used it this December going to Sodwana towing my caravan and it drove like a dream, no problems whatsoever, however a week after being back home, I drove the car to a nearby dam for some fishing, but when I left there the car lost a lot of power, when I got home I found that the wire for the bonnet sensor for the alarm was making a short on the body. I cut the wire and replaced a fuse inside the engine bay, problem solved. now a week later after jump starting the car found that the loss of engine power was back, but worse than the first time. After looking for the problem for a couple of hours the only problem I found was that the earth wire from the radio was not insulated properly. I retaped the wire, started her up and the problem was gone. I drove her to work today without any hassles, but when I left work I noticed that when I accelerate the check engine light would come on and and it felt like there was a slight miss fire, but the moment I leave the accelerotor the light would go off. This continued for about 5 to 10kms and then it just went off and didn't come back on for the rest of my trip home and was running smoothly. I did some reading on other osts, but most of them is about the DID, I found one other post about a 3.5 v6 with a simular problem and it turned out that the MAF sensor was just not connecting properly. Could my problem be the same?

Hope you guys can give me some pointers and that my problem isn't a big one.

Sorry for the long post with so much details, but thought that the more info I can give, the better!

Thanx in advance
