Keep yr Pajero kool!

This may be old news but I see lots of complaints about Pajero's over-heating so perhaps its worth re-iterating points for consideration for those who have over-heating problems.....
The Pajero power plant is a massive piece of machinery generating a huge amount of heat especially under duress....at speed and hill-climbing etc.
This engine as with many others is totally dependent upon Pressure to keep the temperature normal.
Even the tiniest leak in the cooling system is a recipe for disaster.....a tiny leak on the radiator cap, a hose or any other part of the cooling system.....often very difficult to spot as its not squirting water out but rather releasing tiny amounts of invisible steam resulting in pressure loss.....and thus over-heating!
I learned this the hard way so please learn from my own mistakes....When in doubt or experiencing over-heating (Specially in older models).....Replace the radiator cap, every single water hose (and yes....there are lots of them) and the thermostat......use the original wire clamps when ever possible (Standard hose clamps have a habit of cutting rubber hoses)!
If yr ever get caught in a jam and need a piece of rubber hose on the run......there is a spare length of water hose attached to the steering box fluid feed.....you can remove it to get to your destination......you don't really need a power steering box but you DO need water!
I hope these tips helps
Happy travelling....Grant
