I recently had my Pajero 3.5 GDI serviced and they also replaced the cam belt and the water pump. I also had a unichip fitted. It ran perfectly except that the fan belts seemed to slip but 4 days later one morning when I started the vehicle it started misfiring. I took the vehicle back to the garage but they could not solve the problem. They at first thought it was one of the coils on the spark plugs. They adjusted the fan belts and gave me the vehicle back after one day and said it was fine. The problem however lingered and I took it back to them. Now according to the same garage my head gasket was blown and they need to replace that. This is very strange to me as the vehicle did not overheat at all and the previous day it still ran beautifully. What could have caused this failure?
Adrianos,
If it was my car I would do two things first, before removing the heads:
1)Find a second opinion
2)Remove the unichip
The only sensible common dinominator between the symptom and the work done, is the unichip.

Before you take a head off inspect for milkshake under the oil cap and have a radiator shop test for exhaust gasses in the coolant system.
