Hi Good People,

My brother in law has a problem with his 3500 V6 Mitsubishi Pajero, details below.

MODEL: TA-V75W LRHCQ
ENGINE: 6G74
EXT: U3HC
TRANS: V4A51 4300

He took the vehicle to SAC, who "chipped" the vehicle.

It ran fine for 90000 odd kilometres but has recently developed a misfire.

Mitsubishi Swaziland have taken the head off twice but cannot find anything wrong.

Any ideas??

Hi

Miss-firing can be attributed to many issues. Mass Airflow Meter, cam sensor, Coil packs, spark plugs, dodgy fuel, faulty fuel injector, fuel delivery issues(fuel pump, fuel filter)... The list goes on.

Perhaps you can elaborate with more information as to when and how it happens (under load, accelerating, etc...), what RPM it happens, what grade of fuel you are using?? What model is it, a gen 2, 2.5 or gen 3, is it a GDI motor?? Have they plugged the vehicle into Mitsubishi diagnostics?? Have you tried removing the chip with the blanking plug to see if it runs better without the chip??

What else have the mechanic's looked at, and what prompted them to take the heads off (twice)??
