Hey there,
I'm new to this forum but thought that I might be of service for advice regarding Pajeros.
I owned a Pajero SWB 2001 3.2DID, pushed that car to limits where many cars have not been before. Did most of my off-roading in Botswana, faced thick sand, insane inclines and declines, intense rivers, unbelievable mud (extremely fun to drift in), rocky trails and much more. And I can proudly say I never got stuck once, and that was 100% thanks to the car. Many times I came to the rescue to pull other cars out of thick mud, steep and slippery inclines and thick sand. The cars that my pajero rescued were Isuzu's, Hi-lux's, Prado's and even once a Land Cruiser.
That Pajero was truly a legend with its off-roading ability.
Unfortunately though I was involved in an accident where that little legend was written off. After rolling several times with extreme force, I was able to walk away from that car with no major injuries. So if anyone is wondering about the safety of these vehicles then I can truly tell you from first hand experience they are Incredibly tough. That car gave its life in order to save mine.
After that I bought a Pajero LWB 2007 GLS the fourth generation. Absolutely beautiful. Have not tested off-road ability yet though. But I have worked a lot on the actual mechanics. So any questions regarding anything to do with the actual mechanics of the car then just ask away and I will try my best to help.
I rather service and fix my cars myself then I know what is actually going on under the hood and if a problem does arise on a long trip threw out Africa then I will know how to fix it. Plus it truly creates a better bond with your car if you personally can find a solution to any problems you may face.
So in conclusion, I am a major Pajero fan, have a good know how about off roading (only due to experience, no actual training), and have a good know how of the engine and everything that goes with it (again only through experience, no actual or professional training).
So please feel free to ask any questions and I will answer them to the best of my ability.
Keep well and stay SAFE
