Hi. I got a 2005 3.2DID SWB. My wife drive most of the time with it. @ days ago I fitted new head light globes and took it for a test drive, I found when I put it in gear an just touch the throttle it revs up from 900 Rpm to +-1100 Rpm. when you put it in neutral it drops. when you put it in Reverse it picks up automatic to 1100Rpm and if you don't hold the break it goes.
While it does that I put the A/C on and at cold and then it's fine until the a/c kicks out, then it does it again. What can it be ? It didn't do it before it was running fine. Over the weekend that past I changed a leaking oil sender unit and topped the water up but it made a air lock and the motor ran a bit hot, could I have damaged something ? It is not smoking or the motor is not breathing and it starts fine.

Hi. It is running fine now, after a wash I started it and moved it and all of a sudden its fine and it is still fine, maybe it needed a good wash. LOL

Did you disconnect the battery at any time while making those mods?

Because if you did that could explain the high idle. It takes a while (maybe a few days of driving) for the engine and transmission ECUs to relearn the idle settings and gear change points.

Hi I have a 2001 3.2 DID Shogun auto. I have owned the vehicle for four years without any problems. Just in the past month the engine ha started over reving four or more times a day then nothing for a couple of days or even a week. I think this may have something to do with the throttale pedal,but i dont know this problem only seems to ocur at low speeds but the revs shoot up so high and quick the vehicle flies of down the road.
And it can be dangerious with other vehicles in front,but when i pull over and switch of the engine for about a minute and restart its fine until the next time. Also the engine warning light comes on as the revs shoot up. Does anybody have a possible resolution to this problem.

I had a similar problem and took the advice from a previous submission, vehicle now 100%.

Try this, disconnect both the battery terminals, leave for 5 seconds, touch the terminal together and reconnect to battery.

Simple but it worked.
