Occasionally odd behaviour from my Gen2 2.8 tdi: The vehicle starts fine and idles perfectly. However, when I attempt to accelerate, it acts as if there is insufficient fuel. After a few seconds to tens of seconds, it seems to come right. On one occasion the vehicle would not start immediately after having been driven about 5 minutes prior. I had to crank for a long period to get it started. Its as if the fuel supply system gets an airlock.
I've left the vehicle standing for as long as 5 days, only to have the vehicle start almost immediately upon turning the key. It is difficult behaviour to replicate.
Any ideas?
