Gen 1 shifting problem

Hello there, its been a while since I don't post here, but I am back with a problem with my Gen 1 pajero; Okay, I will try to make my self very clear!!!
Everything seems to be normal with my gear box, it changes on time and correctly, but as soon as I reach around 3000 to 4000 RPM the engine start to "fail" if I press the throtle to the bottom then the speed reduces!!! it should increase but it is the opposite, I tryed to adjust the cable from the gear box but it is the same, I have not tryed to adjust the cable from the throtle, but I don't know if it will make it worse.
Any advice will be highly appreciated, if any of you need any more information just let me know.
Have a good day all and thank you for your help.
Regards from Mexico.
