New in the pit
Hi I am new in the Pit, just got 45 and come from Germany
stay time to time in Capetown

Bought me a nice Pajero 1999 2.8TDi
mostly I am happy with that car, just some bist and pieces I have to improve or maintanced

If anybody has serious knowledge of those cars and comes from capetown, would be nice to have a chat

Re: New in the pit
Hello
can anyone tell me what engine type my car has, so that I can download the right manuals?

Re: New in the pit
Welcome!

That is a very nice looking Gen2 Blister Fender, with the 4m40 engine (2800 cc turbo diesel).

First this to have serviced, would be the cooling system.
Engine flush, new thermostat and very good coolant, at least.

Re: New in the pit
Thanks Bud,
I will have a look on the cooling system, actually it gives me no trouble.

The previous owner installed a Sabertek temp. Monitor system, that always shows me the temp. of water and the turbo
(The cooling liquid looks new and good too)

I have a slight problem with the fuel consumption, even when I keep it below 3thsd rpm my Pajero will take 12ltrs/100km.

The prev. owner had the cylinder head replaced a year bevor,so the engine runs well and has lots of power.

Would it make sense to replace the glowplugs and have the injectors serviced?
Re: New in the pit
Glow plugs have no influence on he consumption.
Have the pump calibration and injectors checked.
