Was wondering if anyone has any dyno results they can share with me with regards to a Stock standard 3.2 DiD, mine is a 2000 LWB A/T, I would just like to compare them to the results of mine when it gets done. I have driven a few before I bought the one I have now and it feels a little under powered and sluggish, also it feels like the turbo boosts too late? My consumption when driving really nicely is around 8 - 8.5 km/l..... I may be mistaken, but as I say, would just like something to compare my results to. Thanks.
Hi Desmond,
The problem with dyno results is they tend to be dyno specific, so to be anywhere near comparable you would need to compare with results taken from the same dyno machine.
Where are you going to get yours done?

Hi
This is dyno results at Dastek themselves some time ago. It was for a 2003 LWB 3.2 DID a/t.
I bought a used plug and play Dastek unichip and fitted it to my Pajero. Dastek detuned it slightly because it was to rich. Deon

Further to my post above, deon.vhd's post exactly illustrates the point I was making.
A Gen3 3.2 DiD will produce somewhere around 70 - 75kW on a dyno at the wheels (which is the only measurement that a dyno can actually do). I guess a Gen4 maybe 85 - 90kW. DASTEK (or their dyno suppier) have then programmed in a fudge factor to estimate a conversion from kW at the wheels to kW at the flywheel.
EXCEPT for comparative purposes (which can be very useful when trying to tweak a chip) I would maintain that the absolute values shown on the chart are meaningless.

Hey Guys, thanks for the replys......
So what you guys are saying is that if my Dyno results are in the region of 70 - 75 kw at the wheels then she is running correctly as per the average of 3.2 DiD's ?
So here is the thing though, and I know its gonna sound hella strange but my Pajero runs better when i only depress the accelerator 1/4 of the way down instead of foot flat ?????....pulls better feels like there is more power.....i dunno am I imagining things.....She runs very quite, like really quite and she only takes on the fourth swing when starting, but no smoke and when she is running its all good, but like I say just feels like the engine is a bit "retarded"....that"s why im very interested in this article i saw on here.....

Sounds almost like it exactly what i need to do...

It is controversial. Marius is a smart guy so you can't just ignore what he says, but at least one local diesel fundi says don't mess with the pump advance, it needs to be done properly, by a diesel specialist. (This is not tuning your 850cc mini back in the day).Desmond wrote:Hey Guys, thanks for the replys......
