Hi All,
i have a 98 Gen2 LWB Auto and sat in traffic (William Nicol at 5 so really slow) and after almost an hour i noticed the revs drop below 1000 and then the engine light came on.
i stopped and switched off while i checked all fluids and then disconnected the battery for 10 minutes or so. after re-connecting and driving the slowly on the highway the car felt a bit sluggish and wasnt changing up or down as it used.
any ideas of the possible cause?

Not sure on the gen2, but on the gen3 if you disconnect the battery it resets the gearbox 'learn' settings and will change differently than before for a few 100kms before it has relearned itself. That might explain the different gearbox changes.
Why it dropped revs and then throw CE light in the first place I dont know. Have you tried getting the fault codes before you disconnected the batteries?
