I trust there is someone that can give me some good advice.
My 1999 6G74 DOCHC starting spilling oil. I took her off the road in May and tried to spend what I had of weekends to attend to her.
Replaced the front crank oil seal because I suspected this to be the cause. The front crank oil seal popped on a previous occasion, which is why I started here.
I now have everything back but want to dig a bit further to check just before I get her back on the road.

My thought was to clean the PCV, but can't find where it is located. I have a 3000 workshop manual but it is not good enough for this task. Any help will be appreciated.
1. Do I need to take the air plenum off?
2. Where to I find the workshop manual for the 6G74 Gen 2?
3. Is my suspicion of a clogged PCV close?

Hi, I had a oil leak coming from crank seal. (Difficult to find as oil distributed all over engine) Only after 4 attempts to repair it i found that the oil thrower (washer throwing oil away from seal) was missing. Comic strips at the stealers did not show one either. Found it on some other random diagram. Fitted it and never had aproblem since.Maybe this helps?

I indeed get oil all over the engine, and even though she's been stationary for 5 months, it almost seems as if oil is still all over the place.
I'm assuming this oil thrower is on the crank in the inner part of the crankcase? I haven't opened her up yet; only removed timing belt, crank gear, etc. and refitted the crank seal (a new one). If there is indeed an oil thrower missing then the new seal will not be doing the job. Opening her up will then no doubt come later when I have the energy.
Any thoughts on the PCV?

Hi, the oil thrower sits just behind the seal, so you don't have to take the whole lot apart. Sorry, no experience on the PCV.

Will see if I can get one somewhere.

Anyone else with any thoughts on the PCV?

If I'm not mistaken, the PCV is on the tappet cover on the right bank (looking from the front into the engine bay) at the back, on the inside. The hose then goes around the back of the engine through a metal pipe that bolts on the manifold, into another hose that goes towards the throttle body/air intake.
The metal pipe at the back should help you locate the hose and work your way back towards the PCV.
I've taken off the intake manifold so many times that I'm not 100% sure anymore, but I'm quite sure you'll have to take it off to access the PCV.
