Bigger intercooler for my 2005 3.2 DID Pajero?

Hi everybody.

I finally got a Pajero again this weekend :D . Now its time to optimise it a little  . I'm going to remove the CAT's this weekend and fit free flow boxes. Also looking at that EGR mod....

My question I have is this: I want to put a bigger intercooler in my Pajero. Does it help anything for the Pajero? I know in other Diesel 4x4`s it keeps the turbo cooler and gives it slightly more performance. Can't it be done on the Pajero`s?

Please help.

The standard inter-cooler on the Pajero is pretty decent so you will struggle to get a lot more from a bigger one in the standard position. Moving it somewhere else is difficult and costly and I would say is not worth the effort and money.

I would say just make sure your current one is working as it should by making sure the fins are still intact and open plus maybe clean out the internals of the inter-cooler for oil residue, which should help a bit to bring it to optimum performance. But usually don't expect "warp speed" improvement after all the effort as it wont happen.

Thanks for informing me CATS.

So the intercooler is out then.... :? .

Will have a look at the other posts again to see how I can improve the oomph in my baby...
