EGT Fitment

I'm thinking of fitting EGT gauge on my 2.8td, so see what my turbo is doing.

While doing this I was thinking it would be a good idea to remove the turbo and have it serviced / checked out.

Whom in PTA can I take the turbo to for this?

Turboworks in Centurion has been used by me in the past and I was satisfied by the service.

While I'm at it is there any other check / mod that should be done with regards to the turbo etc?

I am pretty sure they are mitsubishi in house manufactured turbos. I know my 3.2 DiD turbo is one at least - it has the Mitsu logo cast into the compressor side casing.

You can have the CAT removed. I removed the CAT on my Gen3 and again on my Gen4. Both cases they were clean / not blocked and the benefit was negligible.
I see you have a 2.8tdi - I put my glasses on! - my bad.

I have the EGT gauge and probe out of my Gen1 for sale, if you are interested.

Edit: File with specs added.

The Gen1 stands at Marius' place.
He just took these photographs:

The thermo-couple (pick-up probe) was sold with the engine, but are readily available.

Dad forgot to mention that the avionics can take j-couplings or k-couplings.

It can actually take 4 and display all 4 values at the same time. It can also have programmable alarms for high and low values.

ie.

EGT
Oil temp
ATF temp
Coolant temp

Or you can check your IAT's or CHT.

It is a quality product compared to other gauges and has a very nice interface. Money well spent IMHO.
