After a great weekend in the bush and riding around on the fantastic Kleintafelberg trail, I left for home and quickly realised that I did not have the ususal amount of power. This became even more apparent while trying to get up a small incline. Even changing down to 3rd gear did not have much of an impact. This continued for about 60km before I noticed that the traction control lights kept coming on and then diassapearing. Shortly after this the engine warning light came on and thereafter I could no longer get the engine above 3000 rpm. Limp mode had set in.
On getting back to civilisation I have had a diagnostic tool on teh the vehicle and have got a code 43 - timing control valve. The agents want me to bring the vehicle in and have already started preparing me to replace the injector pump and are talking about R25K - R35K for the repairs.
Has anyone got any information on this problem or do you know of someone who is in a position to look at the problem with the view of properly diagnosing and repairing the problem rather than just the easy route of repair?
My vehicle is a 2003 3.2 Did with 171,000 on the clock.
