Gen 4 DID NO POWER

Hi folks. My 2008 gen4 DID has ASC light and later engine warning light on. But there was no problem to the car when driving apart from the lights on dash . After two days I felt jerky gearshifts and after a week has no power as if the turbo not working..fault code is "turbo charger over boost" and "engine fail 35"..what could be at fault?

First the dealer said my actuator is faulty and since the actuator comes along with the turbo I bought a Chinese actuator off eBay..but that was not the issue ..my original actuator worked flawlessly on another car...still they can't diagnose the issue.Mitsubishi Indian service is pathetic and the dealer has not much support from company.

So you did take it to mitsu for diagnostics?
What about the SCV (suction control valve).Faulty egr or sooted up egr?

Yes mitsu can't diagnose it :( they cleaned egr as well . That's not the issue. Have to ask them to check SCV

thanks

The actuator rod on the turbo doesn't move that means not getting enough pressure. But they say no vacuum leak they can find. The same actuator works good on other cars when they swapped it...

Hi Josef

I had a similar problem with my Gen3.

Google Wastegate wiggle and look at my post here.

https://www.pajeroclub.co.za/forum/view ... 489#p38783

Either the wastegate poppet valve is stuck closed or the shaft linking it to the actuator is binding in its bush through the exhaust wastegate collector behind the turbo outlet.

Hi nick thanks for ur reply.. Update from mistsu today! They swapped another cars complete turbo assembly on to my car and still the same issue...so its not turbo related or wastegate problem?

I had loss of power on my 2008 Gen4 DID with 294 000km, first thought torque converter/gearbox, took to Alan Black and on dyno only developed 43kW. Turned out to be diesel pump and injectors rebuild at @ R31000. Now lots of power again and feels like new car.

Hi,

Had a similar issue on my Gen 4. power loss + terrible harsh/jerky gearshift. Took it to KSD in CPT, diagnosed the R2000 barometric pressure sensor to be the culprit. I was amazed to see how a pressure sensor can affect the gearshift

It sits by the Diesel filter and takes about 45 seconds to replace, and solved the issue immediately. This seems to be a common issue, so I doubt if this would have been overlooked, but still worth investigating before you spend R31 000.
