Oil warning light

Getting ready for a trip to Knysna Sunday I decided to do a quick oil and filter service. This will be my first long trip in the 3.8.

As my luck would have it, the oil warning light stays on and only goes off on higher revs. It stayed of tis morning on a cold engine but came on eventually. Had a similar problem once on my 2.8 and I just swopped the pressure switch. Now to go and see if I can find one in Paarl.

I do not know what oil was used beforehand but I have used Delo Gold this time.

Looks like a platkar trip coming up :x

At what rev speed does it switch off? The oil pressure switch on the 6g7x range of motors come on at 0.29 bar IIRC, very very low.
Have it checked immediately, Midas should stock a compatible one as mitsubishi isn't open on Saturday....

Hope this screen shot works. The oil switch extinguishes the red idiot light on the dash at 29kPa or 0.29bar....

No luck with a replacement. Midas and Autozone does not stock it at al and the local Mitsu dealer has no stock. So the Honda will do the trip to Knysna tomorrow.

When the engine is cold the lights goes out at 1000 revs. This changes to just under 3000 when it is nice and warm

Was out of town for a couple of days. Had the oil pressure checked = OK. Did not know it is so high ! At idle the pressure is 2bar and at 3000 revs it's 6 bar!

Anyway the replacement switch arrived this morning, R192,00. Will pop it in tonight.

Thank you for all the info and help
