Hi guys,
I have a technical request, how to meassure the compression on a Gen2
2.8TDi (4M40T) engine.
Read in the manual that the test gauge will be attached in the glowplug hole.
the engine I want to test is not build in yet, so we take out the glow plugs and crank it with the starter.
(hope its correct in this way)
Also seen in the 4M40 engine manual several compression ratios
21:1, 17:1, 16:1
I have a 2.8 turbo diesel intercooler and had to buy an exchange engine.
(that came as the supplier told me from the UK)
Engine ID is 4M40 CA9578
can anyone tell me what the compression ratio would be for a "good" engine, when I will test it before I build it in?
