Overheating Pajero Sport 3.2DID 2010 Model

I recently start experiencing almost overheating with the aircon on in traffic. I know it is quite hot in the last two months and then need to switch off the aircon in traffic. I had the dealer check out the aircon and radiator but they can't find fault. Is there a cure or does it just have to be managed carefulle not to lose the engine.

One would assume upping the engine revs by about 500 rpm should go a long way towards addressing the problem.
Me, I'd just turn the A/C off.

May I ask:
Is your PS auto?
If so, do you leave it in D while stationary, or do you slip it into N?

Does it have an aircon fan? Does it have an auxiliary fan or just the viscous?
Perhaps one of these are not working as designed.
Many do hours of 4x4 work without overheating.
You have a problem. If the dealer can't find the issue, find someone who can.

Kindly let me know in which area you are situated in. I am Parts Incorporated Africa who manages the Silverton Radiator Franchise Network. They will be able to run a series of tests on the vehicle to pinpoint where the problem is.

When at standstill I switch off the A/C put in P at ref until temp back to normal.

Then Marius' question becomes relevant. Can you confirm that the PS has an electrical fan that runs with the A/C (I know all my Pajeros did) and can you confirm that it actually does run when the A/C is active?

Hi Guys, Thx for the suggestions. Took her to Silverton Radiators on Friday 8 January for tests. The radiator was removed and found that it had heated so much that it has expanded top and bottom. A new one was ordered from Durban and the vehicle would be ready for collection on Monday afternoon. The wrong one arrived only on Wednesday. The correct one was ordered from Bloemfontein and was fitted on Thursday. The real problem was the thermostat that got stuck. Marks could be seen on the shaft of the thermostat. Luckily the head gasket was not damaged. The engine temperature in back to normal(even in heavy traffic with the aircon on) I had to return on Wednesday 20 January for the anti freeze to be filled. Can you believe that when I arrived @ 8h00 they had no anti freeze in stock. This was after I phoned on Tuesday afternoon to confirm the appointment. Now I have to make another appointment!
