I have a 96 Pajero V6 3000. I am having problems with power on the car especially when I accelerate or try to overtake and need that extra power.I have eliminated the clutches and torc converter because a second hand one was fitted less than 1000th ago The gearbox kids back perfectly but something stills seems amiss. I had the car serviced recently so all filters and plugs are good a new exhaust was fitted a month a go and I have switch from unleaded fuel to super . For some reason or another we can't seem to find the diagnostic plug according to the book it should be under the dash on the driver side of the car,is it possible that it might not have one.Could anybody please help on this one. Is yours a 12 valve SOHC or 24 valve DOHC?
Next what engine model is it 3.0 2g72 NF or NH, or NJ etc.
The NF to NH were fitted with a 12 pin diagnostic/data link connector. Engine models NJ and above were fitted with a 16 pin data link connector.
However I found that mine a NH version was originally fitted with a 12 pin and afterwards modified for RSA conditions with a 16 pin.
I'm attaching some diagrams to show were it is located underneath dash on drivers side next to the fuse box.
The 12 pin type is clipped on to the right hand side of the fuse box. The 16 pin is on the left hand side of the fuse box.
