Bad diesel consumption need help
Hi everyone.

I recently bought my first pajero.
Its a 2003 uk inport 3.2 did shogun warrior edition swb with 180000 miles on it.

Its the best decision i ever made haha.
But now i need some help.

I read the 3.2 has good diesel consumption but i am struggling to get a average of 6 km/l. And when driving it has no power between 3000 and 4000 rpm. I have no problem starting it hot or cold and only smokes when cold and heavy accelerate.
I want to fix it myself if i can. I just want to know if someone has had the same problem and how it was fixed.

I love my pajero its just a bit heavy on my wallet now.

I hope someone can help

Re: Bad diesel consumption need help
service the injectors and pump. not sure if that will improve consumption but should have better performance
Re: Bad diesel consumption need help
Check vacuum pipe between intake manifold and MAF? sensor, close to diesel filter is connected and not blocked or perished.

Re: Bad diesel consumption need help
Hi

I had the same issue some while ago.

You should use only Spanjaard carburettor cleaner to clean the sensor and tube as it does not leave an oily residue.

Also do not use 50ppm diesel. I have a 2001 3.2DiD and it does not like 50ppm at all. Power is gone and also consumption.
