Gen4 Engine Warning Light - no power loss or sounds

I have a 2009 Pajero 3.2 Did, 142000km on the clock.
He was serviced on 140k by Mits Menlyn. All filters and belts replaced and well as "induction service" performed.
Yesterday all of a sudden the engine warning light came on.
There were no sounds or power issues, so I drove it gently to Mits Menlyn.
They said there was a general engine fault code, had a look but can't find anything wrong. They subsequently reset the warning and told me to bring him in if it happenned again. Well, today, a day later, the light came on as I was starting the ignition leaving work. Again, no power ir sound issues. This morning when I arrived at work and killed the engine, it did shake a bit, doesn't do that normally.
Has anyone had the same experience? What did you do? It is now weekend and I don't think the service dept will be open tomorrow.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Mmmm. Wonder what the actual fault code be? Do you perhaps have access to an OBD port reader? With that you can see what fault code it displays and maybe that will tell you something. I can maybe help with such a reader but am a bit tight on time this weekend.

Maybe check the plugs around the airfilter and dieselfilter. Maybe one of them are loose?

Gen 4 Engine Warning light

I posted this yesterday, CATS deleted my post. Please let me know if there is a problem with my post.

I have 2009 Pajer 3.2 Did, 142000km. It was serviced on 140 000 with Mits Menlyn. All filters and belts replaced, also induction service done.

On Thursday the engine warning light stayed on. I didnt experience any power loss.
Mits Menlyn said the fault code was a general engine fault, they couldn't find anything wrong and reset the warning. Yesterday, all was fine until I started the engine and the light stayed on again.

Has this happened to anyone else? I have read about issues with cat and diesel particulation filter, but in those cases specific error codes were received.

Thanks

Quick update; the engine warning light did not come on this afternoon after I started the engine.
Drove about 15kms, still no light...
Feels to me like it could be a dud sensor somewhere. Maybe temperature related.

Hi Rico
There is a sensor for the fuel filter that sometimes gets knocked loose during a service resulting in an intermittent engine warning light. Check if it is loose or damaged.

If it comes on again give me a shout and we can see exactly what fault codes have been logged by the ecu. PM sent.

Thanks Lock and PeterPot, I appreciate your feedback!

So this morning when I arrived at work and switched the engine off, it jerked a bit. After this, the engine light came on again when I turned the engine over. Still no performance issues though.

Lock, my paj was serviced 3 weeks ago and they did replace the fuel filter amongst other things. But the jerking when switching the engine off tells me it is something other than asensor? :|

Peter, I didn't get a pm yet. Would be great to know the exact error code.

Thanks again!

Rico

I deleted your thread because you posted 3 similar threads in the same subforum. Just trying to keep the forum clean and organized, no hard feelings intended. In fact, on my side it STILL shows 3 similar heading threads under the Engine and Engine Management subforum ?

Can anyone else confirm if this is correct or is it an error on my moderator side?

CATS
Just to be sure I left all of them in tact - for now
EDIT. I have now merged the threads. Do you see that you have posted 3 times if you go to the start?
