So it's with sadness the the engine i just put into my gen 3 only 2 months ago after blowing the first one has just blown!! cracked piston 2 and 4. so i figured i could harves one out of my old motor,ala 3 pistons all buggerd with burnt holes in2 of them and one cracked,i managed to get one! both are 20 thou over pistons, if there is anybody out there that can help me with one piston thst is not standard but 20 thou(which i belive is theone over standard?) i would be indebted to you! i am in cape town and courier anything from anywhere, i can afford to buy a full 4 set. jean 0835030307

I can't help you with a piston, but I can offer some advice.

Since the failure repeated itself soon after the rebuild, it is safe to say that you most probably repaired the RESULT of a problem, rather than the CAUSE of the problem.

To me it sounds as if you have a timing problem, or more probably a major over-fueling issue.
Unless that is fixed, the cycle will repeat itself.

If I understand correctly you wish to use the two remaining pistons again. I agree, as mentioned, the failure was possibly a timing issue.

If so my concern is that although the other two pistons may look ok they could quite possibly be stuctually damaged and cause the engine to fail again. Also the 4 pistons are a matched set with identical and very very critical piston protrusion (height). You normally have to match head gasket thickness to measured piston protrusion. If you get two other pistons you might have to have them machined to the same height which is going to be an extra cost.

To avoid another failure I would start out with 4 good pistons, preferably new, otherwise second hand. Make sure the timing is correct.

Thats the cheapest option i got,second engine now in two months! otherwise vehicle is for sale as is to who ever wants it R50 000
