Hi Guys,

My name is Vernon Pestana, I am 48 years old, live in Rustenburg and work in Iraq as an explosives dog handler/trainer.

Well, My Isuzu KB250 single cab bakkie was stolen on 10th March this year. A 2015 model with only 24000km on the clock.

I decided to not finance another vehicle and bought myself a 2004 Mitsubishi Pajero 3.2 LWB GLS. It has 260000km on the clock with a full dealer service history. I honestly hope to still get some good service out of the Pajero. Now, at last I can go to some new places where 4x4 capability is a must have.

I am an avid motorcyclist and just love my 2013 BMW R1200GS...... (More than any vehicle.... I must say)

The Pajero runs very well and the wife loves it.
Any tips or suggestions looking after this vehicle appreciated.

Cheers...... and happy to be here. :D

Welcome here.

Those are wonderfull model years and should serve you well.

The dieselpump is a bit costly to redo and unfoetunately they give up the ghost with no warning. If you can afford it maybe have it serviced and rebuilt as precaution. Might save you money in the long run.

Also check for oil leak on side of engine in front of driver. This is a oil pressure sensor switch and if it disintegrate can lead to rapid oil loss. Relatively cheap to replace.

The T piece on the water lines to the heater inside car sometime get brittle and break leading to rapid water loss. Check them and if the feel suspect rather replace.

Some earlier models with same engine had the top timing chain guide wear through, sometimes leading to snapped chain. Relatevely easy and cheap to replace so maybe check it out.

Hi CATS,......... or anyone,

I see you are in Centurion, maybe you can assist.
I have sent the email below to MITSPRO on 3 occasions last week. I have called twice but I simply get ignored!!
The last time I called I asked if anyone reads the info@mitspro.co.za mail ...... The receptionist looked it up and found all 3 the mails and said that "Oom Freek/Frik???" would be informed and that he would get back to me.

Needless to say...... still nothing.
If this is the kind of service I get now, I would hate to imagine my frustration if I actually had my vehicle there.
Then again it could just be that the "Oom" just doesn't have time for emails.
Thanks

"Good Morning,

I recently bought a 2004/05 Mitsubishi Pajero LWB Gen 3, 3.2 D-iD.

Going through its service books I found that throughout its history of 250,000km's

it has been serviced at Mitspro. The VIN number is JMYLxxxxx5J000247 and the registration number RJY 590 GP.

Because of the high mileage and obvious trust the previous owner had in the work of your company, I believe that you probably know the previous owner quite well. I would like to get in touch with him/her to afford me a better understanding of the cars history. Things they would know such as .... was the engine or other large parts ever replaced or overhauled, diesel injector pump, etc, etc....

On the other hand you guys may know even more depending on the quality of relationship with the previous owner.... (I'm hoping for that)

According to the book, the last service at Mitspro was on 2016/11/30 at 251582km

If you cannot assist, may I ask that you contact previous owner and ask his permission that I may contact him.

I bought the vehicle at a dealership in Rustenburg and they have no details except the service book.

Lastly, I would like to continue this vehicle's services at Mitspro as I don't have much faith in Rustenburg.

Any help appreciated,

Thank you."
