Hi called autozone today for a new thermostat they only have a 82c thermostat and they said that is what they have on reccord for my model. Will this work or do I need the 76.5 c thermostat. I have read somewhere that only the new models takes the 82c. Will the 82c thermostat damage anything on the Gen3. Anybody know what the correct temp for the gen 3 is?

There is a number on the thermostat. Make sure you get the right one as it can ruin your engine. Have you tried the agents? They should be able to get the correct one from your vin number.

Hi Cats yes I ended up driving all the way to the agents for the thermostat. I did the coolant flush but struggling to get the temp up for the water to cercilate in this cold weather. I took a drive and I had the pajero on idle for an hour without any luck. The temp stays as normal just below the middle. Any suggestions ?

I dont have any problems I am only changing the thermostat for preventative maintenance.

The pajero gauge tends to sit just under middle.

Only use genuine thermostats. I have never had a midas or goldwagen one last beyond a couple months.

A diesel will never get up to temp if you let it idle with the heater on.

Take it for a drive. If the needle settles under half and never moves it is working as it should.
