Hello
i have a 2001 Pajero 3.2 DiD with 280K on the clock.
i have noticed a slight oil leak and today have been told that the leak is coming from the where the Diesel pump fits into the front of the engine and that is a mission to strip and repair.
Please could you anyone confirm if this is true and can anyone suggest some ways to confirm this?
thank you
Regards
Mark
Very difficult to give prognosis like this. I dont know that this is a common problem but I suppose it is possible. Do you not trust the mechanic?

Hi I have never owned a diesel vehicle. As a Captain on board ships, I have experience of how the Engineers on board throw in the towel where it comes to diesel oil fuel pump leaks etc.
Rather take this one to a Diesel Technician for peace of mind?
Regards.

hello
thank you for the responses gentlemen
yes i do trust my mechanic, however saying that he diagnose the oil leak incorrectly the first time, buy this does out weigh the things he has got right the first time.
does anyone know of a good place i can take the vehicle to in east London to let them have a check
it seems that on a Pajero every part is a mission to get to to repair it!

Dear Mark.
I feel your frustration with regards to the costs and trouble to find reputable Technicians/Mechanics that can or want to do the work on these vehicles.
Myself just came back from a long journey after both cylinder heads were cracked.
Anyway, what about Amatola &Storm berg?
I'm in Cape Town but Google this. There's a few more but you must check if it's in your area.
I wish you luck.
Cheers.
