We are going for a 10 day holiday in Ponto in May. I want to take 5 or 6 ammo boxes to pack our clothes etc. I've heard stories that you might get into trouble at the border post.
Is there any issues with taking ammo boxes in etc?
I did a very similar trip 2 years back with a couple of people. We found that the boarder post was not really an issue, but you might have more problems with the police during your trip in the country itself - especially up north (ponto is far south, so i think you will be fine).
So did anything happen during the trip concerning the ammo boxes? I will hopefully be doing the trip again later this year or beginning of next year, so any new advice will be well received.

Had no issue with the ammo boxes. the only issue I had, was the day we came back. the SA police wanted us to open our fridges we had onboard. Other thatn that, smooth sailing.
