Please can someone explain why some models of Gen 4 Pajeros have steering wheel multi-function controls, and some don't?
Also, I have noticed that some have a hard cover over the spare wheel and others don't.
With a view to buying, I have been looking on-line at various Pajero 2007/2008 models and the photographs provided show some models of the same year with multi-function controls and some without. The same with the spare wheels.
Thanks,
Roger
The ones with "Half sparewheel covers, sre the GLX. They dont have steering control, dont have leather and dont have cruise control. They also hava rear diff lock. Black handles grill and side mirrors.
The GLS models, has leather, steering controls, sunroof, cruise control and Traction control. and the full rear wheel cover, color coded mirrors, handles and chrome grill

But wait......there are more anomalies with Gen 4
I have leather, sunroof, speed control, electrical folding mirrors, skid control, control buttons on steering wheel, invisible radio aerial(incorporated into left rear window),.
My Paj was first licensed in March 2008 but I think it was assembled in 2007....but I still have the half spare wheel cover...

Sorry I forgot to mention: I also have color coded bumpers, Chrome grille as well as chrome wing mirrors. On my air box it says: " COMMON RAIL " and I definitely have the GLS.
It appears to me that the lines with regard to Gen 4 differentiation between GLX and GLS are not clear concerning full or half spare wheel cover . Also the engine, which in my Gen4 from 2007 says COMMON RAIL on the air box cover which has the same kW as Gen3 and the same high fuel consumption.
To me it all appears a bit murky as if Mitsubishi was not sure in the beginning what to allocate to GLX and GLS .

Spare wheel cover it seems is not an indication. However, all 2007 Gen4 and up is common rail 121 up to mid 2010, then they became 140 kw,. The Gen 3 is direct injection not common rail.
The black bumpers and steel rims was only the GLX format in the GEN 3 Pajeros, all Gen 4's thats GLX and GLS has color coded bumpers but theres a black centre portion on the GLX and both had MAgs, but the grill of the GLX is black. Ther spar wheel cover centre piece is also black where with the GLS its colorcoded

Thanks for the enlightenment re Gen 4
The only strange thing for me is the 1kW gain from direct to common rail injection (120kW to 121kW).....NO ADVANTAGE AT ALL until 2010. Very Funny but not complaining.....lovely vehicle on road and off road and of course comfort wise.

Hi
I have a Gen4 3.8 SWB, steering wheel controls etc.
What I want to know why is that red dot on the dash not flashing when you locked the car,is there any way that it could be activated or not?
Regards
Riaan

Some models over the years never had the red flashing light thingy under the centre speaker cover

There is a Youtube channel DENMONKEY that explains how to actually activate that red light together with the alarm, apparently some models it activates. Here in SA all alarms on Sports and GEN 4's arent activated for some stupid reason.
