Hi Guys, suddenly my 3.8 has started to drink fuel, yes I know its heavy but this is something else. Daughter loaned the vehicle and filled the tank to 1/2. said she put in R500 so aprox 35 L. Even at 20L / 100km in town it should have given me just under 175kms.
The km left reading is just plumeting and where I could get it to read around 16-18L /100km around town its now reading way above 20.
I checked and cleaned the maf sensor and check air cleaner - was ok. Is there any of those tiny pipes that could be blocked or sucking air causing the problem. Having a very quick look, they looked ok.
190,000kms on the clock. Vehicle starts and drives as normal, not funny noises or loss of power etc.
