Drive quality between Gen 3 and Gen 4 LWB

Good day to all
We have a 2004 GLS, and 2012 GLS, both LWB
We experience that the gen 4 seems to ride much "harder" on all surfaces, than what the gen 3 does
We have checked the tyre pressures, according to suggested rating "2.3 bar on gen 4", versus 2.0 bar on gen 3
The tyres on both vehicles are the same, Goodyear Wrangler, and roughly same km's done so far
I have not as yet checked the difference between the two vehicle's shock absorbers, and have also not checked the thickness or length of the coils on the two vehicles
Is it possible that the gen 4 rides much harder than the gen 3?
If other coils have been fitted, how will I be able to confirm this? Is there a thickness or length difference?
I have not as yet parked the cars next to each other on a flat surface to measure the height of the mudguards
Both vehicles are standard with no extras, and running empty
Any suggestions or advice, thank you
Regards
Andries
