2013 DiDc Engine cut out

Gents

My 2013 DiDc engine just cut out this afternoon. No signs of anything wrong. No leaks, no high temp - nothing.

The engine swings over as normal - but not even a faint attempt to start. No smoke - nothing.

The only this I can notice is that the engine temp gauge does not move - it does not pick up as per normal when you turn on the ignition.

Can this be the issue....any ideas!

Thanks

Could it be the suction control valve that is faulty?

Hi Kurt

Maybe just some feedback for all to keep in mind should you encounter something similar.

What happened is that the Coolant Temp Sensor packed up and this blew the number 5 fuse in the engine bay fuse box. This fuse also feeds the engine ECU.

It is one of the large fuses with the plastic see-through top. At first I didn't pick up that it had blown!

Anyway, car is running like clockwork again. Replaced the fuse and simulated the coolant sensor as healthy with a resistor while Mitsu has ordered the sender unit. Should get it on Tuesday. R 1k poorer!

This seems to be a very rare occurrence as I could not pick up a similar event anywhere!
