I did, but I like to stir the pot now and again. I have never understood the appeal of a Landrover. Uncomfortable, badly built, shocking engines, wiring made out of spaghetti, no room unless you are built like Ken and Barbie, in other words, a POS.
If you really want to insult a LR owner, just ask them how many Paris Dakar rally's they have won. I grew up in the 60/70's and saw the decline of both the car and motorcycle industries, do you maybe remember the debacle of British Leyland and the unions ?. Lots of good ideas, but execution was the problem, that and shoddy build quality. I had one of the last Norton 850 Commando's, bought new, complete with porous cylinder head, cam followers full of casting sand all from the factory, the motor lasted all of about 800 miles........ says it all. But we do tend to look back with welding goggles, the past, no thanks, you can keep it. Like the Landrover, totally overpriced and way out of the ordinary man in the street, I'm talking to you, new Discovery owners.
