Gen 3 Head lining problem

Hi all
Please help I have the 2001 Pajero SWB GEN 3 DiD with sunroof. My head lining is coming loose and went to have it replaced.
The upholsterers told me the board has been cut away from the sunroof opening and around the sunroof pan inside the car therefore he cannot recover it for me and I must get a new one.
I have had this Pajero for 13 years now and have never known this up until now.
I can get a 2004 SWB GEN 3 head lining, but do not know if it will fit, are there any changes ?
Can someone here please tell me if the Pajero head lining covers the sunroof tray right up to the sunroof and is there a gap between the head lining cardboard and the sunroof that just the cloth covers ?
Mine was folded around to the sunroof and fastened under the plates. From the back door it hangs to a seam on wire then hangs to the sunroof.
Some pics would also help. Not sure what to do now if the 2004 model don't fit.
Are the sunroofs all the same size and in same position ?
