Hi Everyone,
Lately, I have been having some idling issues with my 3.2 2007 DiD. The car has done 227,000km with no issues to date so I really don't know whats up.
I have recently replaced the battery but after driving the car for a while yesterday,I got to a traffic light and it just died whilst in D gear. I quickly put it back in park, revved it a bit and got to my destination. Whilst parked and idling,I noticed that the idling would drop and then bounce back. It also went down again and caused the car to stall. Started her again and seemed okay but the idling isn't stable.
I would really appreciate any input. I have been reading quite a bit and some people have replaced their scv and this seems to have solved the issue.

Hi Darius
Have you ever replaced suction control valve? If not I would try this

Hi Danie,
No, I have never replaced so I do agree. I think that may be the problem.
The car will be going to the workshop on tuesday, hoping it can be sorted out quickly.
Out of interest, do you think it could be an electrical fault?

Failure to idle but running ok is often the related to SCV
I bought overseas and imported SCV. Cost was about R1500 lower than local Misubishi spare

Hi Darius
Did the workshop get the problem sorted? What was the cause?

Hi Danie,
So far so good. Took the car to the workshop on Friday and they drove it the whole day. As luck would have it, no issues.
There were no fault codes on the PC so it was clearly a mechanical issue and not an electrical issue. They replaced the SCV valve (hellish expensive) but I was desperate, needed to have the car fixed and so far, not a single issue. She purrs again.
I was told that they normally give up around 250,000km so mine wasn't far off, currently sitting on 227,000km
So happy to have her back in full swing. Just love the Shorty.
Thank you so much for your valuable feedback,I do appreciate it
