Gen 3 Tail light (LED Conversion)
Hey Guys,
Had an accident over the weekend. Forgot I had a trailer hooked up, Jacknifed and reversed into it  Clearly getting too old for, well, err, most things. ;)

Anyway, I crumpled my bumper, which I can live with for now but I am in need of a right rear tail lamp, the big one (not the one in the bumper) anyone have any idea where I can get a second hand or even pirate unit. I haven't check the stealers yet. Fairly sure it will be too much.

Thanks Wilddog

Re: Gen 3 Tail light
Hi guys,

The lED tail light conversion that I do, is very simple - except that it is not a ten minutes job.

What I basically do, is to remove most of the piramid shape plastic in the centre of the light fitting. In its place I glue in a truck tailliight, connect the gires to the correct female plug and Bob is your uncle. I also install a yellow glob in the reverse light section. This act as an additional indicator light. Once again, connect the wires to the earlier mentioned plug, plug it into the existing male plug, test to see that all the lights work, and install the taillight. To summarize, I add an extra light fitting with both stop and tail light plus another indicatot light per side. The last stel is to uprate the fuses to the next stronger rating. I do not know if this is a requirement, but I do it to make sure that when adding atraileer to the Pajero, the total power requires can be handled by the fuses.

Teh reverse lights and fog light still work as Mr Mitsubishi intended them to work.

Cloyd.
