I address this open letter to Simon.
The total unavailability of all Pajero parts is driving me away from Pajero. I'm pretty sure there will be others that are starting to feel that way as well.
My respect for the Pajero vehicle is well known and often recorded in this and other forums.
My request is thus that we as a forum of Pajero owners (with Simon as our fearless leader) demand a statement from Imperial on what the current status is and a timeline and map to where parts availability will eventually settle.
I'm pretty pragmatic and have some experience of company takeovers, so am more than happy to allow time for this process to settle, but we are kept in the dark and do not know where it will end.
I have "Googled" around but have not been able to find an avenue of communication with Imerial, that is why I turn to this forum for help.
I have had a long and hard look at the Autotrader with the express purpose of finding a replacement brand and I'm sorry to say the field is extremely limited. I don't trust the Jeep and LR vehicles to be as reliable as the Pajero and don't want to be a Toyota owner - just like I don't want to support the Bulls. That leaves me with VW Treg, or a Volvo or Subaru soft roader.
Every paragraph in this post starts with "I" or "my". I hate to do that, but this problem lies terribly close to "my" heart.
Thank you

my dealer said 6 months for imperial to get their software up and running and start having reasonable stock. The change over happened before Imperial got historical values of stock requirements hence the shortage as they "guessed" what stock holding should be.
Marius, that's all well and good but it still hearsay from one dealer...
We all worry about Mitsu spares and I'm quite happy that we try get an official response from Mitsu.
Let me see if I can find out how to get hold of a senior honcho, and to draft a letter to them. You prepared to wait a week or so before flogging your trusty steed
And no I don't mean GWM Steed

Hi guys,
A woman treading in a man's terrain..... Yep, I follow this forum regularly for idea's and advice for my beloved Paj
Not sure how true this is, but I was at Mitsubishi in Bryanston yesterday having a couple of things checked over, I spoke to the service guy there and according to him there is a huge shipment coming over and due in about 2 weeks. He reckons the shortage of parts should be sorted by end of January. Doesn't really help us folk heading for the bush in Dec but possibly light at the end of the tunnel....
Holding thumbs!!!!

Simon,
I'm not scampering to the other side yet - this is just terrible timing for me. My car needs the BIG 90k service and my genes are programmed to start looking for a new ride just about now-ish. BUT I'm trapped because I can't service my car (and then stick it in the market) and I don't want to commit to another Pajero in any case. I honestly have an offer to purchase a late model GLS LWB DiD on my desk. This one will have to go to the dustbin, while I wait and see where this will all end.
Thanks for volunteering to try and get some form of official word to us - we know you will deliver.
Regards
Roelf

Thanks for taking this up Simon.
My brother in law recently had a good response and outcome contacting the following person when he had an issue with a mitsu dealership - maybe he could be a good starting point.

All the diesel needs is oils and filters. Those should be easy to come by. Sign it and send it off. Come on, you know you want to!RoelfleRoux wrote: I honestly have an offer to purchase a late model GLS LWB DiD on my desk. He he... you bet I know the drill.
Even SWAMBO is keen - she likes the new shape.
BUT, I really don't like the current situation. What about something stupid like a stone through a head light?
Also; there is serious concern in the back of my mind because the Mitsu dealer had happily booked my car is for the 90k service... nothing mentioned about parts availability. Only when the indi started looking for a belt did we discover that none are available. I'm still absolutely convinced that the service would have been carried out and nothing would have been said about there being no belts available. I'm not a happy camper at the moment

you get that all over. not just from mitsu.
I serviced my father's merc and that oil filter was clearly not changed for about 80'000km (previously serviced my merc under maintenance plan).
Even if I buy new one day, I would probably service myself or leave traps for the mechanics to catch them out. There is only a handful of people on this planet that I trust properly. I have had too many disappointments in my life.

Miaaaauw, Welcome CAT to the forum .
I incidently went to Mitsu just to have a look see about the new launch here in Secunda and my trusty parts supplier which I have enriched substansially in the last year told me the same thing .
Parts on shipment HUGE man HUGE and some system problems added . BUT would not speculate about a timeline and he has had some very furious costemers in his department this last month.
I gues it is a waiting game now
