Following on from this thread: https://www.pajeroclub.co.za/forum/view ... =55&t=5961 I went past Mitsubishi Bryanston today.

Seems all is well on my Diff and props haft. BUT.... Seems like the engine is making a whole lotta noise and getting nowhere

Technician took her for a spin and reckons all is good with the drive train, but that she's dreadfully underpowered. Seems that either the air inlet sensor is faulty and or the cat is getting blocked. Also talks about a resonance in the exhaust... I can't hear it....

Technician says that a free flow will be problematic (increased fuel consumption) due to the before and after sensors will give a reading that will tell the engine to use more fuel Also, it may just be the inlet sensor???

What say you guys out there?

I would first check the air flow sensor and see if it cant be cleaned.

I wont go freeflow on a Pajero diesel. I just took the cat out and there is already a noticeable increase in noise.

Did it pop any fault codes?

Karl, Stealers recon the injectors won't cause these symptoms.

Christo, Paj is going in to them to hook onto laptops etc for them to run fault diagnostics, but only in over a weeks time.... So far no fault codes have popped up on my side.
Fuel consumption is actually pretty good at the moment. highways under 10 and town / traffic the usual 13-14... Average around 12.5l/100

I know the stealers will find a "problem". At over R20k for a new exhaust, assuming this is the problem, what are my options?

Paj is booked for a service and for them to look at what may be the problem. I will be asking them to quote first and take it from there.....
