Hi All.
I note on international forums the guys discuss various series for the Pajero whilst we only talk about Gen 1, Gen 2, Gen 3 and Gen 4.
If I have a Gen 4 Pajero how do I determine which Series within the Gen 4 stable my vehicle belongs to? (Series – NL, NM, NP, NS, NT, NW)
Reason I am asking is because I was thinking of buying the Haynes Manual and need to make sure the book covers my specific series.
Thanks in advance for your input.

Re: Gen 4 Series Identification
Hi Kurt.
Thats a very informative site, thank you but it still doesnt help one identify exactly which model you have. Thanks for the feedback though. I was hoping that somewhere it may be stamped on the vehicle but no such luck. Decoding the VIN plate also tells you a great deal but just not enough.

Gen 4.1
- ATF dipstick
- JATCO box
- wastegate turbo
Gen 4.2
- no dipstick
- aisin box
- vgt turbo
small differences in injection system but nothing worth mentioning. The mechanicals further are identical.

Re: Gen 4 Series Identification
Thanks 4e.
I understand this but still cant quiet get my head around the Series – NL, NM, NP, NS, NT, NW.
Maybe I am reading too much into this and perhaps this doesn't apply to the Africa models.
The Aussie Forums list 4.1 through to 4.4 and it seems my vehicle, by their definitions, would be a 4.3.
If it is a 4.3 I guess that makes it an NW?

Re: Gen 4 Series Identification
I think my 2014 was an NS
an NL is the gen 2, the one before the blister fender.
The NT I think is the first one that came out with daytime running lights (2015)
Hopefully this helps
