Why do I like the 'sound'?
It 'sounds' like good economy to me!
Yeah but you bought a vehicle with an engine in a different class. ;-)

Ok, when you going to do SOS extreme in your vehicle... Oh sorry diesels are not allowed on SOS extreme

Besides - diesel smells bad...

You have the pick of the Pajero engines under your bonnet. Enjoy the torque and the low consumption, BUT PLEASE...... don't take us V6-ers on in the sound department!
The only time I bow down to superior sound is to the Disco V8...

Re: Who loves the sound of a diesel?
Guys, what must the poor iO owners say?

"The little 4 cylinder powerplant kicked into power as I turn the key. The engine screams at the top of it's lungs as I kick down the accelerator, "I WANT TO BE A V6".

or is that " I WANT TO BE A DIESEL"
Re: Who loves the sound of a diesel?
You Petrolheads have no culture. There is nothing like a diesel puttering away at the job at hand. Give me a BIG 4 cylinder Diesel anytime!!!

Don't get me wrong, I like a petrol V6 or V8. The sound of the juice being sucked in at rapid speed really does something. Esspecially to the petrol card

Re: Who loves the sound of a diesel?
I love the sound of an engine.

Every engine represents an application, and when it is a Mitsu engine, it always sounds "spirited"!

My V6 has the added benefit of sounding like a diesel until the lifters settled in!

Re: Who loves the sound of a diesel?
I doubt if we will ever see the iO (Pinin/TR4 in other markets) ever again in SA. The 2010 model already released in the rest of the world.

I hope I'm wrong! Fantastic vehicles.

Re: Who loves the sound of a diesel?
hehe. looks like I opened up a can of worms here.

don't get me wrong, again......... I don't necessarily say the one sounds better than the other but hell that diesel sounds powerful in enclosed car parks. It gave me a helluva grin that even Shalene laughed at me for being boyish! :P

Re: Who loves the sound of a diesel?
I have to admit, the clatter of the diesel engine, together with the whine of the turbo and the whoosh of the wastegate, does tend to bring forth images of huge treetrunks being pulled uphill, while in the meantime, the throaty roar, maybe scream, perhaps nasal, if not freeflowed, sound of a revving petrol V6 reminds of a sound that I just can't get to pinpoint . . . . .
it kinda sounds like . . . . mmmmmmm . . . . . nah . . . . . . . . perhaps . . . . . . . . . mmmmmmmm . . . . . . . no . . . . . . . . maybe . . . . . . . mmmmmmmmmm . . . . . . . . not even close . . . . . . . . . . .

WAIT !!!!!! I GOT IT !!!!!! That screamin' petrol V6 sounds exactly like . . . . . . .

AMA GLUG GLUG !!!! Thats right, exactly like that !! :D :D
