I just returned from 3 great weeks in Israel. I can proudly say that the most common 4x4 on the roads is the Pajero Gen 3, followed by the Gen 2 and Gen 4. Very few Land Rovers and or other manufacturers. Ok, maybe a few Land Cruisers too....

I also saw a Gen 3 driving around at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem - the most holy site to all Jews. Seems to you can take it anywhere

Then my eye caught two grey Gen 4's with a Canadian sticker on the side. They had two items on that I have not seen before - a reverse scoop on the bonnet and a aluminium steel box in the spare wheel's space (looks like a tool box om some kind). Any idea what these might be?

Interesting. It just seems that the oke made a steel box to fit in where the sparewheel would have fitted in and then carry the spare on the roofrack. Don't know the reason for reverse scoop since it does have a snorkel. Maybe improve airflow through the engine compartment ...

What was the reason for visit and which other places did you go to?

I went on a tour with a group called Bridges For Peace - we traveled all over Israel and went to see a lot of places. The place is an amazing mix of history, cultures and people.

Concerning the reverse scoop - it is situated directly over the windscreen water sprayers - could have something to do with that.
