Gen 4 Roofrack - Input requested
Hi - I have been chatting to CATS about fitting an African Outback roofrack on my Pajero's standard railings - this appeals to me cause of the fact that no "drilling" etc is required but I will not be able to fit my car into my garage with that rack on. As it is, I have only 3 cm to play with above the railings. I thought that the rack could be easily removed, but it is apparently a bit of a hassle.

Those of you who have had the Outback rack fitted where they remove the rails and fit it directly to the roof - what's your views on this. Any visible after effects eg. loose roof lining etc? How high is the rack above the roof (excl the rail, which can apparently be easily removed). Happy / unhappy?

I need to make a call here as to which rack to have fitted and would really appreciate some input to help me in making my mind up.

I had the tracks fitted to mine - 99 model so it didnt have rails and I had no choice!!

LA Sport did the fitting and I have no complaints. Rack sits pretty low but can be adjusted to suit your needs. Mine is pretty high because I wanted to be able to open the sunroof all the way.

I'll upload a pic in the gallery if you like.
