After my last outing, I heard a terrible sound from the engine area. it sounded like a can of loose bolts in the front area of the engine.



I imeadiately thought top timing chain guide due to kilo's. I remember seeing that this looked good still when I did the tappet cover rubber seal a few thousand kilo"s ago, but bought a new one anyway.
what I did notice was that the old one showed very little signs of wear, but replaced anyway
While i has this all off, I noticed that there was a little oily substance on the inlet air pipe from the air filter. I cleaned this and this is what came out. Is this normal?
I also noticed that the inlet manifold was packed witht he same oily residue. I plan to remove and clean and also blank off the egr
