I know mine is still out of the TOP GUN league, but just to show that it still turns wheels:
CATS 2001 Gen 3 LWB Manual 3.2 DiD Diesel 270323 270323
Still running great although diesel consumption has not been something to brag about lately. Will be fitting my new intercooler this weekend after the current one met a rock sometime in its past life and cracked. Hopefully that will free some more horses and get the consumption back on par.

Re: TOP GUNS
Thanks RobinsVoyage, update made. You better plan a trip soon - there are a few guys on your heels for the 20th spot!
Macjohnw, I have only 206 000 k's on mine - will probably not see the board soon. Thanks for keeping the thread alive anyway.
Regards,
Anton

Re: TOP GUNS
Just did the 275000km service and standing at 274658 hassle free kilos. Replacement thus far has only been fixing things I broke myself, like the intercooler, and normal service items as well as preventative maintenance like the timing chain guide, water pipes, diesel pipes. The manual gearbox needed some tlc around 220 000km IIRC.
You boys must watch out, I am starting to catch up!

Hey Cats
What kind of tlc on the manual box are we talking about? i also have a manual, all i'm scared of is the clutch.

She started slipping out of first gear on cold mornings every now and again. Replaced some plate and fork 1 and 2 iirc plus as well as the clutch pressure plate and all bearings while the box was out. I left the Dual mass flywheel in as it still looked OK.PIRI D-ID wrote:Hey Cats

Cats where did you get the job done and was the presure plate replacement expensive? the reason whey i'm asking, last week a car stopped dead in front of me in pretoria city so from standstill i had to make n quick pullaway into another lane, as i shifted to 2nd the paj had a slip kind of feeling and i had to release the vet and then punch it again only then the paj pulled like normal in 2nd gear, should i be scared, cause i heard a clutch replacement cost about 22k?

Re: TOP GUNS
Centurion Gearbox and Clutch. R22k will probably be all inclusive of a new Dual Mass Flywheel which is around R12k alone I believe. My whole story was about R12k which included the repairs. I bought the parts directly from Mitsu and gave it to the gearbox guys to fit. The pressure plate only was around R1500 iIrc.
