I have returned from Hartenbos and can confirm that my CC is now working fine, did only disengage once on steep mountainpas, with trailer and ran out of power. Therefore my problem was as loose or bad connection on the mutliplug behind the steering.

So do you put down the fix to having unplugged and replugged the static steering wheel column electrical loom connections?

Let me give you feedback. After I unplugged and re-pluged it, it worked fine, with not once disengaging. However, after my recent Botswana trip on bad corrugated roads, it is again disengaging. I will inspect it again, and also check on that pin thing.

Hello David

For what it's worth, I recently had the same problem - cc disengaging on its own. Took it to Alan Black and he diagnosed a faulty speed sensor on the Injector Pump. Replaced them both within an hour, and problem solved.

It seems there are 2 speed sensors. There is the main one and a back-up. If the one goes wrong, then you end up with an intermittent cruise control problem.

Sure you have sorted it by now, but this might help.

Good luck!

Thanks John,

I don't do much long road at the month, so will try that next. It does seem better after replacing trailer electrical plug, managed to cut it on tour, so had to redo wiring in the plug.
