Hi gents
So lets see how many guys are interested in having the fix done. Its quite far to travel from Bloem for a day or two and if i fly i am not sure they gonna let me board with all my drills and bits and brackets.
I might be able to get a local dealer to let me drive a car down to capetown for them as they sell quite a few there. So there are maybe a few options.
Lets at least get the ball rolling on this
I'm definitely keen. Happy to contribute to the travel costs.
I am quite handy with this type of work (have stripped down the Pajero quite a lot, installing dual battery wiring, etc.). So once a vehicle has been done, I'll be able to help with the stripping too.
I'm sure that you can fly with tools in your luggage that is checked in. I also have most basic tool on hand that I can bring with.
In the other dash thread, IanH and EddieF were also keen. So it looks like we have 3 so far.
Things to think about:
- Week vs Weekend - A weekend will be easier for me.
- Location - Where will we do the work?
- Accommodation - Where will John stay? With one of the Club members or in a B&B.
- Costs - (Flights and accommodation) ~ R3000
- Parts - The brackets and cable ties. Maybe we should also buy a bunch of those dash clips that often break at the air vents?

Just following over from the other thread. As I stated there, I am keen to be included on a Cape Town fix list, and happy to contribute towards costs.
Either a weekday or weekend is fine by me. Unfortunately, I am unable to offer accommodation for JohnG, nor a place to do the work. I do have quite a few tools though. Maybe JohnG can give us a list of potential tools required, and we can then say what we can help with or not.
Regards,
IanH.

Hi, I might also be interested.
I got by Gen 4 about two weeks ago, and haven't yet been able to take it on a rough road to see whether it suffers from the infamous dash rattles, but I suppose a little preventative maintenance won't hurt.

Accomodation is not a major issue as i have quite a few friends i can stay with when im there.
As for tools, the most important one is the 90degree drill extension to drill the top holes. The rest are just size10 sockets, start point drivers and I can bring the plastic dash tools with.If anyone has a size 10 rachet spanner that will be awesome.
Another option is I arrange my wife and i come for a weeks break, but that will be around beginning february next year..At the rate this year is flying we are almost there already.then It will make things a lot easier. Also we need a place where we will have power and 5+ cars can stand

I have mentioned in another post, I am also keen to contribute and have mine done. It is still under warranty but I am happy to cover that. I live in a townhouse in Simon's Town so unfortunately not much parking place.

I replied to the earlier post - Seriously need to sort out the dash - in Melkbosstrand - Have a 2008 LWB with only 75k on the clock. Rattles like hell even on tar. Willing to help sort out the logistics. My email is francois@capewaterfowl.co.za.
