ABS brake problem
Hi Guys

I hope someone can help me. I have a 2006 Glx pajero. The ABS light and the handbrake light came one. Also a buzzer started and my brake peddle became rock hard. Limited brakes

I have spoken to two different mechanics. Both believe it is the HBB pump. Both told me I need to take the can to the dealers, they can't work on it.

Can anyone advise me on a alternative option? Can these pumps be reconditioned?
Re: ABS brake problem
Hi Jaco.
Have a look at the post below. The problem is most likely just the little 12V DC motor.

Re: ABS brake problem
Thank you. I will start with the 12v pump.
Re: ABS brake problem
Good luck, and please keep us posted.
Re: ABS brake problem
Hit the 12v motor with a hammer or something. if it starts running you know its the 12v motor.

Its under the pump itself, if you remove the airfilter you can get eazy acess.

Re: ABS brake problem
If you fixed it with a hammer, then it wasn't an electrical problem.
Re: ABS brake problem
You can tap it with a screwdriver as well :) just to free the motor from carbon buildup. Just to get you of the mountain or to the mechnic who can then recon the motor for you. It shure don't fix the 12v motor.

Re: ABS brake problem
The problem is the 12v motor. The commutator is damaged. I have send it in for repairs.

Re: ABS brake problem
That is good news (compared to having to replace the whole ABS pump). Thanks for keeping us in the loop
