Dear All
Great forum. I have a LWB Pajero 3.2 DID, 2013 with 160000 on the clock. Not the best car I've had but Iove my Pajero!
I have an intermittant problem, which might only occur once in 1 or 2 months or 2 to 3 times in one day. Maybe there is someone who can put a finger on it. When I stop, say at T junction or robot, then accelerate the car stays in idle. It will pull of but not accelerate. I can put my foot to floor, with no reponse. This might last 20/30 seconds, then it gradually picks up. After 2000rpm, Normal again. Runs normal, smooth, fine on idle, no rough spots. Quite a worry as I never know when will happen.
I see that the fuel control valve can cause hesitation, but usually rough idle. Told MAYBE fuel pump need overhaul. Have not used car much since lockdown, but serviced anyway.
Any thoughs appreciated.
Regards to All

Re: Lack of power from idle
I can only suggest you book it in at a specialist to have it looked at. Depending where you are you can try Bradley at Alan Black Bosch (he’s the fuel pump guru with an on-site dyno for diagnostics) in Springs or Arnold Venter at Mitsitech in Alberton.

Re: Lack of power from idle
If you have an odb ready check your throttle position sensor etc , sounds like it may not be reading the accelerator position correctly. Just a thought

Just for general information.
Turned out was jammed EGV. Exhaust gas valve.
New one fixed problems and improved performance.
