I bought a Gen 2 Pajero Sport 2.5 recently, and it looks like the dealership removed a previous set of dashboard, seat, and center covers, leaving impossible to remove, baked on adhesive spots. I've tried alcohol, adhesive removers of varying strengths, acetone, ammonia, and I think I've pulled up more dashboard plastic than adhesive at this point. If anyone is a materials scientist and needs to evaluate a substance that's harder than diamond, let me know.
But, since this was for a dash cover in the first place, a new dash cover is a good solution. All I'm looking for is a simple dashboard cover. I don't need pockets or bells or whistles. Basic canvas would be great. I've looked everywhere, and I can't find anything for Pajeros, short of a custom cover for north of R1,100 that seems to be a bit classier than my old boy needs.
Is there another make/model dash cover that generally fits the Gen 2s? Or is custom the only way to go? It doesn't even look like the original one that was removed fit all that well anyway, just some R350 generic "organizer" flopped over the engine readout and media panel like granny's old table cloth.
