MacJohn,
Two things to consider (make that three):
1)I think you have the GLX, which presents limited data
2)Only petrol Gen3 Pajeros has the trip data screen
3)You could be dof

Correct. The fuel consumption data is calculated from the fuel injector opening signal data on the petrol V6. Of course this is only possible with electronically controlled injectors, as on the fuel injected petrol motors and on the new Gen 4 Common Rail DiD motor. The older DiD motor does have an electronically controlled diesel injector pump, but the injectors are not individually controlled electronically, so the ECU is unaware how much of the delivered fuel volume was injected and how much returned.

Actually the trip meter screen is available on the RV meter in DiD Gen 3's as well if you go into the system setup screen and define the vehicle as a petrol version. Of course this makes no sense to do, because the trip computer does not function: it does not get the necessary information from the engine ECU.

The system setup screen is also used to tell the RV meter wheter it is installed in a LWB or SWB vehicle (fuel tank size differs).

Re: Trip Computer Pictures l/100km
I dont have a trip computer, but on a recent 300 km trip my 2800, lwb, automatic 1997 Pajero (jap import) used 40 litres of diesel. This was all on a good tar road, and travelling at between 110 and 120 kms/hr. I was not very impressed with this, but apparently its about the norm?

I have a trip computer on my v6 ,but I believe it to give me incorrect readings!

I suggest a min. distance should be a requirement - say 100km.

(I can snap a piccy of the Toureg showing instananious consumption of 0.0 l/100km)

Geez... that's bad...

Even with a bit of emphasis on the loud pedal you should be getting about 600km to a tank

 Good grief! That's 4.6 km/l! I get 4.7 km/l in town with my 4.5 Patrol running on 33" Mud Terrains and with a roof rack on...

Eish!

My WORST case is 5,8 (heavy foot, lots of town driving) and I get it up to juuuuust under 7 (more open road - not too heavy-footed).

@ 4,6 there must be a problem?
